The Grindelwald-Männlichen Gondola Cableway and Jungfrau Railways are planning to build a V-cableway that will provide access to both the Eiger Glacier as well as Männlichen. From a common terminal in Grindelwald Grund, a tricable gondola leads to the Eiger Glacier and an ten-person gondola leads to Männlichen. The V-cableway will connect to public transport via the BOB at the new Rothenegg station.
Replacement of Grindelwald-Männlichen gondola
- Modern ten-person gondola
- Reducing the travel time from the current 30 to 18 minutes
- Doubling the capacity of 900 persons/hour to 1,800 persons/hour
- 109 gondolas and 33 support columns
- Concession of the current cableway extended until April 2018
- Common terminal (base station) with the Eiger Express in Grindelwald Grund
- Public transport connection to the BOB Rothenegg stop
